Nostalgia and the Arts: Sketching

I mentioned in my last post that seeing the Urban Sketchers Singapore Exhibit made me miss sketching. You see, back in the summer, I made it a habit of sketching my surroundings during idle time. I haven't got my blogging mojo back at that time so I figured it would be nice to have at least a sketch or a doodle that can serve as a journal entry (inspired by Lucy Knisley's book "French Milk").

I dunno why I stopped sketching. Lack of inspiration and motivation, I think. Or perhaps it's just laziness. I'm not really sure.

But it would be nice to get back to it. Maybe just a couple sketches a week would suffice. I wish.

Actually, upon writing the previous post, I happened to drop by the Urban Sketchers Singapore blog and discovered that later today, they would be having a sketch walk in Vivo City. I was so very tempted to go there (the event is free for those who are interested) but I realized that they will be meeting there at 9:30AM; which would equate to me waking up at around 7AM if I wanted to get arrive there on time.

Er. Maybe next year then?

But then, there's a Pulau Ubin sketch walk on Monday too, since it's a holiday.

Should I, or should I not?

But I gotta be honest, I'm a little bit shy. I'll have to introduce myself to this group of people. They've been doing this for I don't know how long and they probably all know each other. I'm just a newbie. Heck, I haven't even gotten the hang of using watercolor yet.

Oh, excuses, excuses.

Next year, I'll have enough courage to go and join a sketch walk. Next year.  I promise.

Okay! That's one resolution on the list. Whew!

We'll see how it goes.

Love and peace sign out. <3
